Christy O’Sullivan TD drink drives and all he does is apologises. Totally unacceptable.

   The precedent was set ages ago, wasn’t it? Can’t remember who it was but some politician was stopped going the wrong way up a motorway - and he survived. This is small fish compared to that.

   Also!

   “Mr O’Keeffe said Mr O’Sullivan was aware that it is inappropriate to drink and drive”.

   However, Mr.O’Sullivan has yet to clarify his position on the inappropriateness of:
   * Running with scissors
   * Getting confession while holding your lad
   * Asking for brandy and baileys when someone else is buying

   All he did was have a few pints and get behind the wheel of a car! for crying out loud, it is not as if there are people dying on our roads weekend after weekend.

   I’m sure he’d argue that he’d better serve his constituents by remaining in office and WORKING HARDER for them rather than forcing a by-election on them.

   He’d be wrong, of course…
