   Jacques, it’s unclear whether Paris is your second name or your location, but you’ll find that the French were one of the countries to block the first try at these reforms (ie the failed attempt at an EU constitution).

   I’m guessing it’s ok for the French and the Dutch to vote No, but not the silly drunken Irish? And are you really suggesting that Ireland gave away it’s voting rights for money?

   Anyway, this time around, if other countries were allowed to vote, it is likely that others would say No also. But leaders of EU states believe in very limited democracy.

   In reality the Irish No vote is speaking for far more than those who voted. It is speaking for many who are not being given the chance.
