It’s Real Player / Windows media only, but it’s online streaming of RTE’s news 24 hours a day.
Good discussion over on Mulley.net of the merits or lack therof of the different streaming formats. Right now I’m thinking interesting and bold use of brown for the side bar headings there.
Ah fair fucking play to them - the live streaming of all their news and current affairs stuff is a good step forward. The schedule for it is here. That said, if ever there was a screenshot that showed they’ve still a bit to go:
Really? Way to monetise your new broadcast medium there. I’m being harsh I know. But still, having your amazing service go blank with a graphic saying ‘Commercial break’ for the real-time duration of the ad break? Sigh.

You’re not being harsh and hopefully someone in RTE will read this and several hundred pennies will drop.
Why put up ‘commercial break’ when they can make loads of money from advertising?
