Internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Spencer Tunick will be offering the public the chance of a lifetime to become part of his first back to back city art project in both Cork and Dublin this June. Multiple groups of nude participants will be photographed outdoors by Tunick as part of his series of installations that have previously taken place in cities around the world including New York, Amsterdam and Mexico City.

He’ll be doing it in Cork on the 17th of June and then Dublin Docklands on the 21st June. Exact locations have still not been announced. From the FAQ:

Approximately what length of time will I be naked?
You will only be nude for a few intervals within hours that the art event takes place. Most of the time nude is used getting everyone into position. Once everyone is in place, Spencer will work as quickly as possible to document the installation.

Oh man, just thinking about the problems that could occur at this after flicking through the emergency planning booklet, Jazz Biscuit edition.

Obviously,
inappropriate erection
is a real concern for the men.

And let’s not even go here:
guinness shits
That would not be good.

Cashing in on Molly Malone

Tags: , , ,

‘Artivist’ Will St Leger placed £50,000 worth of fake ‘Bertie’ cash in the baskets of Molly Malone’s statue on the 31st March. The36-year-old street artist filled the baskets of the well-known Dublin monument with one hundred £500 bills that depict image of a JCB tipping Celtic designs into a skip and a portrait of the embattled Taoiseach. The artist says that this art intervention was in protest to the destruction of the Hill of Tara and a culture of greed.

Artivist? Really?

Found over on Captain Mulley’s flufftacular. (It’s hurting our feelings that we keep getting called Soggy Biscuit.)
