  1. We’re not stealing any of the Chancer’s ideas, like putting a few quick links in list form.
  2. There’s an apple store in Ireland! In Belfast! Go and spend too much money now!
  3. RTE’s David Murphy wins an award at the Transport Journalism Awards. But it’s only runner-up. Fearghal O’Connor of Business and Finance takes the top prize for the fourth year in a row. Patience, David. Everyone knows the Transport Journalism awards are all politics. Keep on truckin’, stay in the driving seat, don’t take the wrong road, live life in the fast lane…
  4. Someone just updated The Night of the Iguana wikipedia page. It’s a play by Tennessee Williams. Anyway, anonymous Irish wikipedia updater has the definitive word on the matter: Its all A bag of shite really.
  5. Shots fired at pirates holding Irishman. Unfortunately, it’s not funny at all, it’s the case of Irish man Fred Parle, currently being held by Somali pirates.

Find out more about Second life:Visit secondlife.com or the wikipedia entry.

Did you know there’s a Belfast in Second Life? Do you know what Second life is? It’s an online virtual world, where you can login and create an avatar, and generally wander about the place in 3D creating things and talking to people.

Someone went to the trouble of walking around the virtual Belfast and posting it on YouTube:

And did you know that a few months ago Discover Ireland held an event in the virtual Dublin? (News article.)

It seems to me these things have a bit of a ways to go before they become good enough to be mainstream.
