  • Kidney confirmed as Ireland coach. Quality photoshop.
  • Boards.ie - as ever, the questions that really matter: Ok I was just thinking, at what distance away would a person be that you would stop holding a door open, like in a shopping centre etc… Its happened to me so many times that you look back and think I’ll hold the door open for this person and they take AGES to get to the door and your left feeling like a bit of a tool just waiting. At what point is it acceptable to just say feck it and not hold the door open
  • Dáil elects Cowen as State’s 12th Taoiseach. Is there gonna be a Gordon Brown style backlash? How can he live up to the standards set before him? I hope he’s closed all his bank accounts at the very least.
  • A short video to highlight the fact that the Irish government and E.U. want to ban all vitamin supplements.:

Drunken people’s irrational attraction to hats

Tags: , , ,

Only boards.ie has it’s finger on the pulse of our various vagaries in such a thorough manner. This time: How come when people are drunk they are so attracted to other people’s hats?

Just a gripe really, about drunken people’s attraction to hats, in particular the innocent trilby. Looks nice on the ceann I find but on nights out it becomes something different, a target for the gormless pisshead to either abuse the wearer, pull it off the wearer’s head and wave it around, pull it off the wearer’s head, put it on their own, turn to their friends and see what they think of it(hiding the fact that they’d like to but probably would never wear one on a sober Monday) or a combination of all. I wear my one regularly, on any given day, but I find that on most nights out I wear it it’s either pulled off my head etc. I find this very frustrating and wrong. The interest astounds me to be honest. One one occasion I confronted an offender and started to take his jacket from his back, much to his surprise. I told him in so uncertain terms that it was the same principle and he stared back at me blankly, probably because he didn’t expect me to do what I did. Does any trilby hat, or any other hat wearer for that matter have this problem? I’d say so. Just thought I’d ask.
