Yep, the Community Climate Change Consortium for Ireland (c4i) have released a study showing that it’s going to get hotter and wetter, particularly in the South and East of the country. I think I have experty diagrammed this with my photo above.

[Independent.ie] Ireland to be warmer and wetter in coming decades. - The majority of comments on the article when I checked were pointing out that it’s all LIES.

Change.ie: Ireland’s plan of action on climate change

change.ie climate change

The launch ad (watch it here) for the whole campaign compares climate change to the historical challenges such as those faced by Eamonn De Velera and Michael Collins. Super Gormley talks briefly about that in this breakingnews.ie video and story here.

The web site is a fairly decent affair, complete with google mash-up which starts zoomed in on Ireland with some pointers showing impacts of climate change. (Mullingar will have an increase in insects apparently.) It’s not obvious, but zoom out to see the full global pointers to impact spots all over the world.

The whats being done at the national level section puts it fairly bluntly that we’re way off our international targets.

Getting Israel off Oil in 10 years and also: Fuck Planet Earth

Jazz Biscuit lunch time TV
Each lunch time during the week I’ll try and post interesting video.

Whenever I talk to people about driving, their eyes always glaze over when I suggest they get smaller cars, drive less, car pool, etc. In this amazing video Shai Agassi [Wikipedia, blog] speaking at a recent conference called Digital Life Design goes into this addiction and how he intends Israel to become oil-free in 10 years. He explains the car problem succinctly and better than I’ve ever heard it explained and then outlines his proposals and how Israel has already signed up to them.

Incredible stuff. Found at Tom Raftery’s blog.

And after such high-brow, world-saving stuff, let’s continue with Fuck Planet Earth.
