Dublin iPhone launch photos

New weblog Ireland in Beta took these photos of the Grafton Street stores selling the iPhone this morning:

Unsurprisingly there wasn’t much fanfare or people! There was no one at The Carphone Warhouse, 2 people at The O2 Store and 8 at The O2 Experience. The Carphone Warehouse was like a ghost town besides all the staff milling about, it looked like they were expecting to be quite busy but obviously most people were buying straight from O2 as there were no discounts to be found!

Check out the flickr set.

The iPhone relies on people being blinded by first-mover technology and uses that as an excuse for a business model that is the phone-contract equivelant of going around to the users mothers house and giving her a bit of a beating.
