The Netherlands promote Ireland with a viral

Tags: , ,

rally_ireland_game

The Netherlands ran a tourism viral for Ireland tied into the World Rally when it came here. They came up with a game which was two player only. Here’s a video:

The game itself is here: webrally.oberon.nl. It’s a nice concept, but two player only, so billy-no-mates like me can’t play it. In fact, I couldn’t even connect to the lobby when I tried it.

Shock: Irish big on social networking

Tags: , , , ,

A breakdown of the top 10 website visits shows that social networking sites and search engines are the most popular, with blogging and travel websites running a close second.

But almost two-thirds of the total users visited social networking sites in February, making the Irish among the highest users of Facebook, Bebo and Myspace in the EU.

Miss didn’t win Miss-Bebo but was featured on TV3 said it best when she said:

Bebo is a big part of my life.

We’re breading a nation of social retards. We already require alchohol to function socially. Just the nation then, to get hooked on online stalking. It’s all going to go tits up and we’ll end up with serious issues. Haha going to. I meant has. I wonder if captain operating-theater-smash has a bebo?

A university has been given £82,000 to examine the experiences of Irish homosexuals living in London.

How interesting.

A Taxpayers’ Alliance spokesman said: “It sounds like it’s come straight out of a political correctness joke book. I’m lost for words.”

Sociologist Roisin Ryan-Flood, leading the project, said: “By exploring the relationship between sexuality, ethnicity, and migration, the study will uncover the ways in which contemporary sexual citizenship, migration and LGBT imaginaries of the metropolis are mutually implicated in complex ways.”

The Daily Llama: Chemtrails over Ireland?

Tags: , , , ,

your lungs glow like a beacon

The Daily Llama , Ireland, reports on a possible siting of chemtrails over Galway.

I’d never heard of chemtrails, so it’s time to hit up wikipedia, yo.

The Chemtrail conspiracy theory claims that some trails left behind jet aircraft are different in appearance and quality from those of normal contrails, may be composed of harmful chemicals, and are being deliberately produced, and covered up by the government. These unusual trails are referred to as “chemtrails” (a portmanteau of “chemical trails”).

The term “chemtrail” does not refer to common forms of aerial dumping (e.g. crop dusting, cloud seeding or aerial firefighting). It specifically refers to systematic, high-altitude dumping of unknown substances for undisclosed purposes, resulting in the appearance of these unusual contrails.

The video embedded on the post on chemtrails is conspiracy material at it’s best:

Awesome. The Daily Llama Ireland is:

TDL Ireland is, as the title suggests, an Irish Edition of The Daily Llama.
The Daily Llama wants to bring Irish issues and our beautiful population back into the world spot-light as well as help inform the Irish masses of the busy, buzzing world inside Ireland.

We are sexy devils, so no arguments here.

The main Daily Llama site is:

The Daily Llama is a strong contingent of writers from around the world who’ve vowed to enter the war for Truth and Freedom.

Excellent. I love the logo:

The Daily Llama

I like the tag-line. You report, we’ll decide if it’s shit.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Dermot Ahern said that with a growing number of hybrid and environmentally friendly vehicles on the roads, it was time for an overhaul of the department’s fleet.

Giovanni TrapattoniThis morning The Indo, has reported that he’s reported to have agreed to be the next Irish manager. Breaking News though, stuck with speculation mounting. The Irish Times says he’s ‘all but been appointed.’ It’s the Irish Examiner, who today, ran with him being appointed: Trapattoni appointed Ireland coach.

Rick O’Shea points to this youtube video, skip until about half way through to see why he gets Rick’s vote at least:

Previously: Giovanni Trapattoni for next Ireland manager?

Irish Babes: Laura

Every time an Irish lad goes to a foreign country, they comment on how beautiful the women are there, and how depressing it is on their return. Enter IrishBabes.net to piss all over that particular idea (Or does it?).

Disclaimer: There doesn’t appear to be anything on the site that you wouldn’t get in your average copy of The Sun, but be it on your own head if there’s shocking dirty stuff and you get fired from work etc.

Irish babes logo
The domain is registered to an Irish guy. They have a bebo page too. There doesn’t seem to be any particular business model to it, just bog-standard what-the-internet-was-designed-for gallery posting. That is unless, as the bebo page implies, there is a print edition:

We’re looking out for the hottest babes from the Emerald Isle for online and future print editions of IRISH BABES .net If you think you sizzle then please get in touch

I sizzle. Do you sizzle?
