Ringing in Sick

Tags: , ,

Back in 2007, enterprising production company from finglas, Dogmedia, got real jobs, and then never showed up:

Four resourceful humans test the tolerance levels of four human resource managers by constantly failing to show up for work after being offered a job. The aim… To see who can hold onto their job the longest without ever working a day. The process… Ring work every morning explaining ones absence. The result… Imaginative excuses, irate employers and guaranteed sackings.

Was part of Darklight back in 2007.

Spacemen Three

spacementhree

That photo is from flickr. Spacemen Three is a short film premiering at the Galway Film Fleadh in July. We were sent through some more info:

Space travel requires both mental and physical stamina, and when veteran astro-geologist Javier Fonseca withdraws from a vital rock-collecting mission, only one person passes the tests to replace him - his Irish research assistant, Dr. Glen Hosey.

Dr. Hosey has never been in space before and his unorthodox methods of passing the time aren’t really compatible with the peaceful journey the other two astronauts had in mind…

Pat Shortt is Dr Glen Hosey, Michael McElhatton is Dr Yuri Semyonov, and Peter McDonald is Dr Neil Giffords.

Sounds promising.

The Fall

Tags: , ,

Gritty, short film set in Dublin dealing with the harsh reality of drug crime? Bleeded sepia-blue tones? The Fall has it. Trailer:

Didn’t find any more info on it.

Wave Riders and The Plug

Tags: , ,

Wave Rider, the surfing documentary, may have done well at the Jameson Irish film festival, but we’re loving The Plug, a teen effort that delves deep into the existentialist in all of us. Quality work from the kids:

Dude, what happened to your hat?

And one more thing: Wave Riders doesn’t appear to have an entry on IMDB. Does that not mean it doesn’t exist?
